Finally Started Working

Wow! It's crazy how doing nothing can make you so tired. So, I started work yesterday. I'm helping out with the whole fourth grade. The teachers had a tentative schedule for me, but one of them was not here today or yesterday. Then, the schedule doesn't account for things like PE or computer lab or library, so there are still some kinks to work out. So this week, they don't really have that much for me to do. I did get to play a few games with the kids in small groups during centers, or rotations as they like to call them.

Mostly, I just sat and watched, which can be entertaining for a little while, but doing it all day can get tedious. I got home, and I'm just tired. Then my sister says, "Why are you so tired, you didn't even do anything," because at her job, she did manual labor. I think actually doing something would wake me up more than just sitting and watching.

Hopefully by next week, the schedule will be all figured out, and I'll have more stuff to do.

Yay! Finally working! I sometimes feel like that's how work is for me. Some days it's coloring and signing time and making copies. But working with kids is exhausting no matter what you're doing.

I hope they've figured some of those things out by now. It's not as fun when you don't feel helpful--like you haven't earned your pay. At least that's how those days feel to me.
